From the PEI Rockets Launchpad e-news:
Hockey Day in Canada is a day to celebrate Canada’s greatest game and the PEI Rocket are planning special events in conjunction with their game that afternoon. The Rocket host the defending Memorial Cup Champion, Saint John Sea Dogs, at 4 o’clock on February 11th at the Charlottetown Civic Centre, with activities for all ages beginning an hour prior to the drop of the puck. Gord Stellick will be the CBC host at the game as the network sends live feeds of game action and interviews throughout the nation.

Trent Birt, PEI Rocket Vice-president of Operations, says, “Hockey Day in Canada is about much more than televising a hockey game. It is a full celebration of our hockey culture and although we are delighted to be a part of CBC’s national telecast, we want to give more to the day, our fans and our game. We are adding a festival type environment and we expect our building to be full of energy. This is the true nature of the Canadian hockey culture.”
Children will be accommodated on the Trade Centre side of the complex with face painting, an Andrew’s Hockey Growth Programs Hardest Shot competition from which shooters can win gift cards to Andrews Hockey School, and target shooting where Rocket players not playing will be signing autographs and participants will have the chance to win the Reebok stick they shoot with as well as a tour of the Rocket dressing room. Free popcorn will also be provided.
Adults will be entertained in the Rocket Lounge with two pieces of The Wannabees Band playing before and after the game as well as during the intermissions. There will also be free pre-game munchies. The main concourse will have live entertainment for fans of all ages as well.
As for the game itself, the Rocket will be looking to move closer to a couple teams ahead of them in the playoff race while widening the margin between themselves and Rouyn-Noranda for the last spot. The last time the Rocket and Sea Dogs met was in Saint John where the Rocket won 4-3 in a shootout.

Reblogged from Albuquerque Little Theatre:
Adapted by Joseph Robinette. From the novel by L.M. Montgomery.
This new dramatization captures the charm and excitement of L.M. Montgomery’s enduring classic about an orphan girl, Anne Shirley, from her first encounter with her austere guardian to her thrilling graduation from Queen’s Academy.

Reblogged from Coffee for Cancer:
I spoke with James' father, Ron this morning. He told me the surgery went well and Melinda and James were on their way home.
Ron was so grateful that something was even planned. And he was so appreciative that $800 was raised.
Thanks to all those who donated, who dropped by and who prayed for James. Your support is appreciated.
Thank you,
Georgina
